I’m Laurissa. A Synthetic Extensions Artist & Educator. I became a licensed hairstylist in 2007 and started creating and wearing a variety of Synthetic Extensions in 2020. I always LOVED the look of dreadlocks, but I never wanted to commit to having permanent dreads in my hair. I discovered Synthetic Dreadlock Extensions and have been OBSESSED ever since.

When I’m not creating Hair Art I am a Mom to 6 amazing kids. Yes, I’m busy. Yes, my hands are full (I do have toddler twins). Do I feel crazy? 100%

I always wanted to be a Mom, and I do love it. But, I found myself “lost” in motherhood. For a long time being a Mom was my entire identity and I felt guilty for wanting to be more.

I have always had a creative fire in me. When I started my business I honestly thought I was going crazy. I had no idea how I was going to do it all. I had no idea if I was even going to be good at it. I tried to talk myself out of it, I have tried to quit. MANY times.

But then I realized something. My kids deserve a Mom who is confident and fulfilled in WHO she is. My creative expression through my hair style is just one of many ways that I show up for myself. I hope to be someone my kids are proud of. I want them to see me pursuing my dreams as I encourage them to pursue their own.
